On one of the hills in the southern part of the Greek island of Chios, among the stones on the steep slope, grows a magical mastiha forest where every tree has a name. It hangs on a small wooden plaque, fastened with string on both sides.
When you are part of this cycle and doing the hard work these special trees require, your mind begins to wander freely and search for different ideas. Somewhere there, this need appeared: on the one hand, to bring mastiha resin closer to more people, so they can hold it in their hands; but also to connect them with these trees, which are the only ones in the world that give this precious resin.
In the mastiha forest with the adopted trees, Americans stand beside Portuguese, Dutch beside Japanese, Swedes beside Canadians. It turns out there is room for the whole world on a handful of land, hard as stone.
